Researchers have found that ingesting painkillers during pregnancy could affect the fertility of the unborn child in later life.

The study, which was published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives, revealed that these drugs could affect the fertility of both unborn males and females.

They researchers also discovered it may also affect the fertility of future generations, by leaving marks on DNA. This adds to a growing body of evidence that certain drugs, including paracetamol, should be used with caution during pregnancy.

The Kaduna State Government has introduced a house-to-house search mechanism to prevent as well as protect residents against outbreak of infectious diseases.

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Paul Dogo, made this known in a statement made available on Sunday in Kaduna that government was determined to tackle measles, cholera, meningitis and other viral haemorrhagic diseases.
