Barely one week after many primary school pupils were feared dead following the collapse of a three-storeyed building at Ita Faji, Lagos Island, a two-storey building on Monday reportedly collapsed along Kakawa street, Lagos Island leaving a yet to be ascertained number of persons trapped.

According to Dailytrust, the first incident claimed the lives of about 10 persons while 38 others sustained various degrees of injuries. At the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and other relevant authorities were working to rescue those trapped in the rubbles.

The Lagos state government had marked some old houses in the area for demolition after public outcry.
