President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated the construction of a new Transport University in Katsina, which is said to be completed within 18 months. President Buhari, during the inauguration of the first university of transportation in sub-Saharan Africa, stated that the school will boost local capacity, economy, domestic technology, enhance innovation in the nation’s transport system, and provide employment opportunities.
IPPIS: We Can’t Be Threatened With Salary Stoppage By FG – ASUU
The Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) officials have continued to stand their ground over enrolment into the Integrated Personal Payroll Information System (IPPIS), saying the Federal Government cannot intimidate its members to enrol into the system they have already rejected with stoppage of salaries.
All Quack Teachers To Go By 31st December, 2019 – TRC
In an attempt to sanitize the teaching profession, Federal Government has directed all non-qualified teachers to be removed by December 31, 2019. This was disclosed by the Registrar, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Professor Olusegun Ajiboye, while inducting over 200 Education graduates of the University of Ibadan(UI).
IPPIS: ASUU Makes U-Turn as They Commence Enrolment
The Federal Government has received the Nominal role of about 41 universities in preparation to capture the university staff into the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS). Punch reported that the IPPIS coordinator in the office of the Accountant General office, Mr Olusegun Olufehinti was contacted where he confirmed receipt of the nominal roll.
