The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim has announced that the Federal Government has approved the payment of N33,000 as monthly allowance for corps members. Brig. Gen. Ibrahim made the announcement while addressing corps members at the NYSC Bauchi State Secretariat, adding that the approval was in line with the implementation of the new minimum wage.
The NYSC boss enjoined the corps members to disregard the amounts being circulated on social media, assuring them that the approved amount is N33,000.
“Contrary to the various amounts being circulated on the social media, the sum of thirty-three thousand Naira had been approved as the new rate,” he said.
He explained that the payment for the new monthly allowance would commence in 2020, as provision for the allowance was made in the 2020 budget.
