Scores Dead, As Bandits Attack Ondo Catholic Church

Bandits have reportedly killed over 50 persons in an attack on the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. Apart from worshippers, some passersby were also hit by stray bullets. According to witnesses, the attack occurred during the church’s Sunday service.

Dambazau Calls For Urgent Control Of Illicit Arms, Drugs To End Banditry

Former Nigerian Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and also former Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Danbazau has suggested that part of the workable solution to stem the tide of the Fulani Kidnapping and banditry in the country is an urgent need to mop up weapons and hard drugs amongst the Fulani youth. Danbazau made this known today while delivering his paper titled “Dilemma of Fulbe Pastoralist” during a pastoralist and Fulbe security Conference in Abuja.

Abductors of Methodist Prelate Demand N100m Ransom

The abductors of the Prelate of Methodist Church, His Eminence, Samuel Kanu-Uche, and two other clerics, have demanded a sum N100 million as ransom. This is coming barely 24 hours after unknown gunmen abduct him on Sunday, along Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State. The Methodist Church in Nigeria has expressed sadness over the abduction of the Pilate, describing it as sacrilegious and a national embarrassment. Notable Nigerians have also condemn in its entirety the shocking act. The Secretary of the Conference, the Rt. Revd. Michael Akinwale confirmed the demand in a statement issued to newsmen on Monday.

NA: No Attack On Nigerian Territory By Cameroonian Separatists

The Nigerian Army (NA) has dismissed claims that Cameroonian (Ambazonian) separatists attacked some Nigerian villages on Sunday 29th May 2022. The Army however confirmed that the militants carried out attacks on communities located in the Republic of Cameroon.

CAN Enjoins Buhari To Rescue Kidnapped Methodist Prelate, Others

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has on 30th May 2022 urged the President Muhammadu Buhari, to help rescue the kidnapped Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Samuel Uche, and two other from their captivators. The abduction of the Prelate took place on Sunday 29th May 2022 alongside Rt. Rev. Dennis Mark and the Prelate's Chaplain in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State by hoodlums yet unknown.
