Fatima Killing: Tactical Ethnic Cleansing, Arewa Youth Fumes

Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, has raised an alarm that what is happening in the southeast is a tactical ethnic cleansing against northerners residing in the region. AYCF National President, Yerima Shettima made the allegation accusing the southeast Governors of executing an agenda against the north by failing to stem the tide of killing a particular ethnic group in their domain. Shettima said, the group has condemned the murder of the pregnant mother, Fatima who was killed alongside her four children in Anambra state last three days.

Kukah's Church Under Attack, Priests, Others Kidnapped

In the early hours of Wednesday 25th May 2022, some gunmen invaded one of the parishes presided over by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Hassan-Kuhah. The hoodlums kidnapped two priests and two others in the rectory of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Gidan Maikambo, in the Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State.

NRC Suspends Resumption Of Abuja-Kaduna Train Services

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the indefinite suspension of the proposed resumption of the Abuja-Kaduna Train Services (AKTS) following pressure from the families of abducted victims. Recall that the NRC immediately suspended train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route following an attack by armed bandits on March 28, 2022, where about 50 passengers were kidnapped.

Anambra Governor Charles Soludo has lamented over the beheading of Hon Okechukwu Okoye, who represented Aguata 11 Constituency by gunmen at the weekend. Gunmen kidnapped the lawmaker and his aide, Cyril Chiegboka, on May 15. The severed head of the lawmaker was found on Saturday evening at Nnobi, Idemili North local government area.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) through a statement signed by its Acting General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Faithful A. Hope-Ivbaze, on 20th May 2022 has identified the mangled body seen on the runway of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos as that of a cleaner who was cleared to sweep Runway 18R/36L.
