Court Sentence Killers Of Fasoranti's Daughter To Death

A High Court sitting in Ondo State has sentenced three out of the four killers of the Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural leader, Pa Fasoranti's daughter, Mrs. Funke Olahunrin to death by hanging. The killers are; Mohammed Usman, Osagie Lawal, and Adamu Adamu who were arraigned in 2019 by the Ondo state Attorney General. The criminals were charged with four counts of charges by the Attorney bordering on felony to wit Murder, murder, and kidnapping.

Pope Saddened By Owo Catholic Church Attack

Leader of the Catholic Church worldwide, Pope Francis has reacted to the killing of worshippers attending the Pentecost celebration at a parish in Owo, Ondo State by unknown gunmen. Insecurity: Governor Ikpeazu Orders Herders To Vacate Abia Forests

The repeated kidnap incidents in Abia State, has led the government to direct herders and settlers residing inside forests around Umummeochi Local Government Area (LGA) to vacate. Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, also directed that cows and herders around operating in the area are restricted to the Cattle Market at Umuchieze until a final decision is reached concerning the menace in the Cattle Market. Judges Remuneration: 60 SANs Storm Court To Demand Salary Review

No fewer than 60 Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) have today stormed the National Industrial Court in solidarity to challenge the Federal Government and the National Assembly to demand pay raise for Nigerian judges. According to the report, the Senior lawyers who showed up in the court were to challenge the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), the National Judicial Council, NJC, and the National Assembly demanding the upwards review of remuneration for the Nigerian judges.

Scores Dead, As Bandits Attack Ondo Catholic Church

Bandits have reportedly killed over 50 persons in an attack on the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. Apart from worshippers, some passersby were also hit by stray bullets. According to witnesses, the attack occurred during the church’s Sunday service.
