Insecurity: Buhari Gives Fresh Matching Order To Military On Terrorism

Following the turbulence of insecurity that has continued unabated in the country, President Muhammadu Buhari has given a fresh directive to the Nigerian military to wipe out the terrorist in the country with immediate effect. The President said Nigeria has come under the siege of terrorism in the last 12 years and it has to stop. Northern Nigeria especially, has been under a series of attacks from terrorists and bandits who have grown from bad to worst in the last two years and seem unabated. Communities have come under attack, Kidnapping for ransom, farmer-harder clash of varying dimensions among others have been the order of the day.

Gunmen Attack Buhari's Convoy

Gunmen have launched an attack on an 'advance team' of presidential aides leading to the death and injuries of some individuals as revealed in a statement on 5th July 2022 by Garba Shehu the spokesperson of President Muhammadu Buhari. Mr. Shehu, who described the incident as ‘sad’ said the attack occurred “near Dutsinma, Katsina State, at the convoy of cars carrying the Advance Team of security guards, protocol, and media officers ahead of the President, Muhammadu Buhari’s trip to Daura for Sallah.”

Explosion Rocks Kuje Prison As UGM Attack

Kuje medium correctional centre came under attack last night after unknown gunmen (UGM) suspected to be bandits detonated a high calibre explosive that rocked the facility and the environs, forcing residents to scamper for safety. According to reports, the suspected bandits attacked the facility late Tuesday night to free inmates, despite early warnings by the State Security Service. It was also reported that the UGM came from the back of the prison and were heavy-armed with different grades of explosives.

Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack: Terrorists Threaten To Execute Victims

The terrorists that attacked Abuja-Kaduna train early March and abducted dozens have reportedly threatened to commence slaughtering of their victims numbering about 51 who are still in captivity. An audio message purported to be from the group, which is now in circulation, have revealed threat by the group to kill the victims because the government have failed to secure their release. A Kaduna publisher, Tukur Mamu, a negotiator confirmed on Wednesday that the audio was real and that the group had fixed Wednesday to carry out the threat. According to him, they became provoked on Monday after giving another opportunity.

ICPC: Real Estate Developers Serves As Conduits For Money Laundering, IFFs

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) urged the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) to desist from serving as conduits for money laundering and Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs), which is the illegal movement of money or capital.
