The Ondo State Police Command has described as untrue the report trending on the social media that some Fulani herdsmen attacked and killed some passengers travelling along Lagos/Ore road.

The social media was flooded with the report on Wednesday, causing unnecessary panic in the state.

Spokesman of the command, Femi Joseph, urged members of the public to disregard the story.

He said those who carried out the attack on Ore did not kill any passenger as being circulated.

Armed robbers on Tuesday, attack passengers along the Benin/Ore highway, in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, injuring many travellers.

During the incident which occurred around 4 pm, according to an eyewitness, the hoodlums who were armed to the teeth, used one of the seized vehicles to block the ever busy expressway.

The robbers were subsequently dislodged by a deployment of soldiers from the 32 artillery brigade, Okitipupa.
