The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, on behalf of the Federal Government has announced the 15th and 18th of April 2022 as holidays in commemoration of Easter celebrations. This was contained in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Shuaib Balgore on Tuesday 12th, 2022.

Aregbesola appealed to Christians to emulate the attribute of sacrifice, togetherness, forgiveness, kindness, love, peace, and patience, which were the attributes and practices of Jesus Christ, as exemplified by His ministry on earth.

More so, he urged Christians and all Nigerians to seize this occasion of this festivity to pray for an end to all insecurity challenges ravaging the nation, also noting that no stone will be left unturned in bringing the perpetrators of all heinous crimes to book.

“Security is everybody’s business. I, therefore, urge Nigerians and foreigners resident in our country to display a high sense of citizenship and public-spiritedness at this critical time in the history of our country, by supporting the efforts of all security agencies in bringing peace and security to the lives and property of the citizenry,” he said.
