The immediate past National chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has today refuted claims purported that he plan to leave the party. Oyegun, who spoke to journalist in Abuja on Wednesday, affirmed that Nigerians should ignore such rumors.

About 45 opposition political parties under the aegis of Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, have announced former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of PDP as the consensus candidate of the opposition in the 2019 presidential election.

The President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki has assured protesting staff of National Assembly under the aegis of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN, that their entitlements would be settled soon. The protesters had occupied the National Assembly Complex on Tuesday morning, preventing Legislators from accessing their offices and Chambers to carry out legislative assignments.

The Nigerian Navy Board has approved the promotion of 87 senior officers to the ranks of Rear Admiral, Commodore, Captain and Commander, Dailytrust reports. The report quoted a statement on Tuesday by Navy spokesman Commodore, Ayo Olugbode, as saying the newly promoted senior officers comprise of 10 Rear Admirals, 25 Commodores, 24 Captains and 28 Commanders.
