The son in-law to Rochas Okorocha, the Governor of Imo State, Uche Nwosu has dumped the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), few days after defecting from the All Progressives Congress (APC). Nwosu is now the Governorship Candidate of Action Alliance (AA). The former Chief of Staff's campaign posters and Billboard sighted in Owerri, the Imo State capital had the party's name and logo printed on them.
Recall that following the refusal of the leadership of APC to cede the party's governorship ticket to Nwosu, a faction of APC in the state loyal to Governor Okorocha defected to DPP to enable them realize their ambitions. Okorocha who said he remained a member of the APC however hinted that he would throw his weight behind Nwosu during the governorship election in the state.
Okorocha had accused the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of compromising the outcome of the primary election held in the state, stressing that Hope Uzodinma who was declared winner of the party's flag never won the primaries.
Meanwhile, Okorocha has insisted that he would continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari's reelection bid. He called on his supporters not to panic as his political structure was still solidly behind the President.
