Contrary to widespread speculations that President Muhammadu Buhari who left the United States on Tuesday after an eventful meeting with the United States President, Donald Trump and foreign investors, may have flown to the United Kingdom for medical reason, the Presidency said the stopover was merely technical.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, in a text message to our Dailytrust on Thursday, explained that Buhari's technical crew decided to break the long US trip to refuel and do routine checks in London.

He also disclosed that President and his team would be back to Abuja this evening.

His message read;

"It is a smaller plane. The BBJ is away on repairs. The technical crew decided to break the long distance journey, to refuel and do routine checks. This is normal. They are flying back to Abuja now."
