The Federal Government has declared Tuesday 1st October as public holiday to mark the Nigerian Independence day. The announcement was declared by, Mrs. Georgina Ehuriah, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior on Wednesday in Abuja.
She said the Directive was from the office of the Minister, Rauf Aregbesola while speaking for the Federal Government. The Minister congratulated Nigerians both home and abroad commemorating with them for coming this far, though with tribulation but promised there is light at the end of the tunnel.
The Mister promised Nigerians that the government is working hard to bring an end the insecurity that has been threatening the very fabric of Nigeria.
According to him, peace and stability are critical ingredients for the development of any nation. Saying our founding fathers are worthy of emulation when their love for one Nigeria is being considered.
While drawing the attention of Nigerians on potential opportunities that are available for grabs in Nigeria, Aregbesola promised Nigerians that the Next Level mantra is real, and all hands need to be on deck to move the country forward through socio-economic development.
Speaking further, the Minister added we are blessed with bonded brotherhood which has continued to fuel our relationship over time through thick and thin, he said we need to exploit the bond in the years ahead to actual the Nigerian of our dream.
He enjoined all Nigerians to continue supporting President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration in its purpose to build a safe, economically viable and corruption-free nation, in line with the dream of the country’s founding fathers.
