The National Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu on Tuesday swore in seven new Resident Electoral Commissioners in Abuja. The development has now brought the total number of RECs to 33. Prof. Mahmood who spoke during the ceremony expressed confidence that the new RECs would contribute to the commission’s determination to make 2019 general elections the best in the country.

The appointment of Festus Keyamo was conveyed via an April 16 letter signed by Rotimi Amaechi, the minister of transport and director-general of the Buhari Campaign Organisation.

At a meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May on Monday in London, Buhari promised that the Federal Government would return history to school curriculum.
