Atiku Global Support Group (AGSG) has launched a new campaign, “Operation Woo Your Delegates’’, to help former Vice President Atiku Abubakar clinch the presidential ticket of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The National Coordinator of AGSG, Alhaji Gambo Jagindi, made this known in a statement on Friday in Abuja. Jagindi noted that the era of the imposition of candidates was over in the PDP, adding that the campaign was created to creatively seek the vote of PDP delegates.

The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams has said Yoruba people would resist attempts by Fulani herdsmen to turn the South West into a blood field as being experienced in some parts of the country. Gani Adams who made this known in a statement released to newsmen on Thursday by his Special Assistant, Kehinde Aderemi, lamented the growing number of Nigerians being killed daily by the marauding herdsmen.

Former Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Ibrahim Attahiru Jega has warned politicians intending to contest for elective positions in 2019 to carefully craft a manifesto that will convince the electorates as the era of buying votes was gone. Prof. Jega stated this on Friday at an interactive forum organised by the Centre for Democracy and Development, CDD, to interrogate how African government’s can reconcile procedural democratic practices with substantive democracy.

The River state governor, Nyesom Wike has donated the sum of N200 million to Benue State as part of his support to help the state in the recent herdsmen attack its facing.

Wike was on a solidarity visit Wednesday, to the state to commiserate with the New Year Killings of about 73 people by suspected herdsmen.

The Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has declared that the state does not have land for cattle colonies.

The governor stated this on Tuesday while addressing stakeholders at a meeting involving herdsmen, farmers, community leaders and heads of security agencies.

He decried the inability of the federal government to disarm armed herdsmen who perpetrate crimes and other vices also called on the Federal Government to come up with a clear-cut policy that will help bring an end to the menace.
