President Muhammadu Buhari has refused to sign three bills passed by the National Assembly into law. The three bills, passed in December 2017, are the Police Procurement Fund (Establishment) Bill 2017), Chartered Institute of Public Management of Nigeria Bill, 2017, and the Nigerian Council of Social Work (Establishment) Bill 2017.

The President, Muhammadu Buhari has directed the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu to reconcile all aggrieved members of the party across the country preparatory for the 2019 general elections. The President gave the directive on Tuesday in a statement issued to newsmen by Senior Special Assistant on media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday in Abuja signed Executive Order to improve local content in public procurement with science, engineering and technology components.

This was made known in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

The Executive Order is expected to empower qualified Nigerians by promoting the application of science, technology and innovation towards achieving the nation’s development goals across all sectors of the economy.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive that its national leader, Bola Tinubu should reconcile aggrieved party members. APC said the directive was a welcome development, adding that such task required a great deal of political skills and experience which Tinubu possessed.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has accused the Ibrahim Magu led Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of damaging the current administration’s war against corruption by its many manoeuvres and scheming in his ongoing trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) over alleged false assets declaration and other related charges.

Saraki comments come on the heels of resumption of his trial at the CCT on Tuesday and especially after the Tribunal Chairman, Danladi Umar, who had in June 2017 acquitted Saraki of any wrongdoing in all the 18 charges levelled against him by the prosecution, was charged at the Federal High Court Abuja by the EFCC for bribery and fraud.

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu on Monday told a delegation of the British High Commission in Nigeria led by the High Commissioner, Mr. Paul Arkwright that ongoing legislative work on the Electoral Act and the Constitution Amendments would be completed in a matter of weeks.
