Two House of Representatives members have dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. The members identified as Kolawole Babatunde (Ondo) and Mukaila Kazeem (Ogun), resigned from the ruling party on Wednesday, November 21 to enable them pursue their future political ambitions.

The lawmakers' resignations letters were read by the speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, during plenary. While Babatunde's letter hinted that he has pitched his tent with the PDP, Kazeem did not name his new party.

The aggrieved lawmakers blamed their defection on how the leadership of the APC handled its controversial primaries election.
