Not fewer than five hundred (500) members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State defected to the All Progressives Congress.
Receiving the defectors, Bashir Bolarinwa, Kwara State Chairman of the APC assured them that equal rights and privileges being enjoyed by old members, would be accorded them. He urged them to add value to the party both in the state and at the national level.
Bolarinwa, while congratulating them for their decision, asserted that the task ahead was enormous. He challenged them to work for the success of the party in the upcoming elections by ensuring victory for all the candidates of the APC including the governorship, senatorial, National Assembly and state House of Assembly candidates.
The party chieftain said the fortunes of the party in the local government area and Obo-Aiyegunle, in particular, would continue to increase with the coming on board of the decampees. He commended party members for the success in the November 17 House of Representatives by-election while averring that the party will be successful in the 2019 general election.
