Senate Confirms Chidinma Osuji As Executive Director Of NDIC

The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Mrs. Emily Chidinma as Executive Director of the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).


Osuji was confirmed on Wednesday during plenary following the consideration of the report of the Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s nomination of Osuji was in accordance with the provisions of Section 8 of the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation Act, 2006.

Chairman of the Committee, Senator Uba Sani (Kaduna Central) said, “The nominee possesses the academic qualifications, technical knowledge and professional experience to be Executive Director of the NDIC.

He also stated that the Committee did not receive any petition against her nomination and she was cleared by the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and possesses the Code of Conduct Acknowledgement slip.

Osuji was thereafter, confirmed by the Senate as the Executive Director of the NDIC.
