Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Friday 13th of January 2022 paid a courtesy call to President Muhammadu Buhari, thanking him for signing the Electoral Act, which he notes paved way for his victory as Governor as well as free and fair elections in his state. Sen. Adeleke who is meeting the president for the first time since his victory at the polls in November 2022 noted that he has benefited greatly from the Electoral Act which the president signed in February 2022.
In his words, “I am a beneficiary of the new Electoral Law you signed, as it paved the way for free and fair elections, ruling out ballot box snatching and stuffing. The security agencies followed your instruction to be fair and firm, and I am so proud of you. You are a true father, regardless of political party differences.
“Since my election, I feel like I should come and say hello to Mr President and thank him for signing that Electoral Act because I benefited from it. That paved the way for free and fair elections and the international community is applauding Nigeria, that Nigeria is set for democracy.
“So, that is why I’m here (at the State House, Abuja) today, to see him, thank him, and wish him well in his remaining time in office.”
The governor added that he would engage with the President’s Chief of Staff to design a proper framework for collaboration between the Osun State Government and the Federal Government.
