Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has appointed Olayide Owolabi Adelami as the Deputy Governor of the state, dissolves the State Executive Council. The Governor also terminated the appointments of all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs). As revealed in a statement by the state chief press secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, "All members of the cabinet are to hand over to the permanent secretaries of the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices." He then added that "the Governor thanks the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of the State.”
The governor has transmitted Olayide Owolabi Adelami's name to the State House of Assembly for approval.
Adelami, a retired Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly, hails from Owo, Owo Local Government Area, the same LGA of late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. He was an APC governorship aspirant in 2020 but however stepped down for the late Akeredolu.
