Reports from ongoing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election ahead of Ekiti state Governorship election indicate that Senator Abiodun Olujimi, an aspirant for the governorship ticket, on Tuesday stepped down for the immediate past spokesman of the party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye.
According to the Senator who made her intention known shortly before the commencement of voting at the Dove Hall venue of the primary election in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, she opted to step down in the interest of the party.
According to her
“For the benefit of our party, I offer myself and I transfer my structure to Prince Adeyeye. Olujimi steps down for Adeyeye.”
Following her withdrawal from the race, the battle for the party's flag ahead of the July election is now between the Deputy Governor, Prof. Kolapo Olusola who had been endorsed by Governor Ayo Fayose as his successor and Adeyeye.
