The All Progressives Congress (APC) appears has failed to submit the name of a governorship candidate for Imo State as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) publishes names of those billed to contest the governorship election in the state.

According to Vanguard, while that of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Emeka Ihedioha and 66 others appeared on the list, that of the APC was not on the list.

The development may not be unconnected with intense pressure on the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomole by the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha to substitute the name of Senator Hope Uzodinma with that of his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu. Gov. Okorocha who had severally accused Oshiomole of compromise said Nwosu remains the authentic flag bearer of the party in the state.

Meanwhile, a subsisting court order had asked all parties to maintain the status quo pending the determination of the substantive suit before it. Both parties had approached the court, seeking to be recognized as the authentic winner of the primary conducted in the state.
