The Federal Government's N-Power social intervention programme has been described as the largest graduate jobs programme in the whole of Africa by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
The first phase of the programme took in about 200,000 graduates while the second phase, opening in June, is expected to absorb 300, 000 more.

The Acting President made the remarks Monday, at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, during an event to mark the second year anniversary of the President Muhammadu Buhari's administration.
While showcasing components of the National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) in a presentation themed "A Smile For Every Nigerian," Osinbajo said "the N-Power programme is the largest post-tertiary jobs programme in Africa. We now know that we can train large numbers electronically."
He also disclosed that the portal for the programme will re-open June 13 to absorb a further 300,000 graduates into the NSIP.
The Acting President said beneficiairies are also beeing scaled up for other components of the NSIP inclduing the Conditional Cash Transfers (CCT), the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) Fund and the Home Grown School Feeding.
According to Osinbajo, "the social Investment Programme is both a heart and a head programme.
"Heart, because the pains of poverty cannot be ignored. The programme is also a head or logical common sense issue. A country’s economic development is a function of the number living above poverty level.
“Our levels of poverty are so alarming that clearly some fundamental interventions by government are necessary," he said.
