President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 3 new executive commissioners for the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), while one current executive commissioner has been redeployed. This was made known on Tuesday in a statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
The nominees are, Bashir Indabawa (North West), Executive Commissioner, Exploration and Acreage Management; Kelechi Ofoegbu (South East), Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services & Administration (Redeployed); Enorense Amadasu (South South), Executive Commissioner, Development & Production and Babajide Fasina (South West), Executive Commissioner, Economic Regulation & Strategic Planning.
According to the statement, “The President approves the reshuffling and replacement based on his deeply informed assessment of all factors concerning the sector with a view to establishing a regulatory framework and culture that comprehensively disincentivizes errant behavior and incentivizes diligence and rules-based business practice across the industry.”
