Renowned songwriter, singer and recording artist, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known by his stage name, Wizkid has reportedly pocketed over N72 Million from the streaming of his hit single "come Closer" on Spotify video platform. Famous ace video director, Adasa Cookey made this known on Saturday via a post on his Instagram page. He disclosed that the hit single which also featured United States artist, Drake has been streamed over 55 million times on Spotify platform.
His post reads "Wizkid'sCome Closer has been streamed about 55.8 million times on Spotify. That amounts to roughly $200 thousand or N72m in earnings and that is Spotify alone..."
Recently, the Ojuelegba crooner was enmeshed in a social media battle with Davido. The media war got messier after other artistes such as Tekno, McGalaxy and Cynthia Morgan got involved.
The fight started after Wizkid announced a date for the release of his already trending album, "Sound from the other side". Davido had trolled him, insinuating that the Album might flop. Wizkid clapped back by describing him as a local champion.
Meanwhile, fans of the superstars claimed that the beef may have been stage managed to publicize the album.
