Who wants To Be A Millionaire (WWTBAM), a popular family Television quiz program in the country would make a comeback in September after the original sponsor of the show withdrew sponsorship in June.  According to reports posted online by Ultima Studios, the show would resume on September 3. The report also announced Airopay as the new sponsor of the programme.

“We are pleased to inform the general public that the popular family quiz program ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Nigeria’ will return to TV on the 3rd of September 2017." It added “New season, new sponsors, and whooping cash prizes to be won. Don’t miss any of the episodes.”
Meanwhile, the organizers of the programme on Tuesday took to the official Twitter handle of WWTBAM, @WWTBAM to break the news.

The tweet read "We are back like we never left. #WWTBAMreturns."


Another post on a different platform says "we are pleased to inform the general public that the popular family quiz program 'who wants to be a millionaire' Nigeria will return to TV on 3rd of September 2017. New season, new sponsor, whopping cash prizes to be won, don't miss any of the episodes".


Unconfirmed reports had indicated that the former sponsor of the program, MTN pulled out due to the N330bn fine imposed on it by the National Communication Commission (NCC). The Commission had accused MTN of violating certain operational guidelines.
