Police Arrest Fake Soldier, Recover Guns In Delta

Delta State police command revealed that it arrested members of a syndicate who disguised in military uniforms to perpetrate crime in Asaba, the state capital. According to the police the fake soldiers were planning to cause mayhem in the state when they were arrested. It was gathered that the state commissioner of police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, on receiving the information deployed a combined team from the department of operations “COBRA 11” comprising operatives from Response Squad, Raiders Squad and Operations Department to embark on an intelligence raid on their hideout on Sunday.

House of Reps Leader, Doguwa Remanded In Prison

The Kano Magistrate Court remanded Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the House of Representative Majority Leader, in prison over a 5-count charge including culpable homicide, criminal conspiracy, mischief by fire, causing grievous hurt, and inciting public disturbance. The presiding judge, Ibrahim Yola made the judgment on Wednesday, following Doguwa’s arrest by the Kano State Police Command at the Aminu Kano International Airport on his way to board a flight heading to Abuja.

Naira Racketeering: ICPC Arrests Accountant, PoS Operator

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested an accountant with Oando filling station and a Point of Sale (PoS) machine operator in Dutse, Abuja over alleged racketeering of the new naira notes. The Commission revealed this on Friday in a statement issued by its Spokesperson, Azuka Ogugua.

Explosion Rocks Community In Kogi State

Reports have it that there was pandemonium in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi state after unknown miscreants were said to have blown off the administrative offices in the evening of 20th February 2023 where properties worth millions of naira were razed down, it is said that the affected building is close to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office. Although no life was lost. Just a few weeks back there was a similar incident of an explosion, just a few hours before President Muhammadu Buhari visit the state to commission some projects. it was alleged that the detonation was sponsored by the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic West Africa Province (ISWAP).

Zamfara Govt Evicts NGOs Within The State

Zamfara State government has ordered all non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the state to leave immediately and has ordered security agencies to investigate and prosecute any NGO still operating in the state without due clearance. The state government has also ordered Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to cease any form of relationship with the NGOs, warning that sanctions will befall any MDA that flouts the directive.
