Insecurity: Bandits Kidnap Students of Federal University Gusau

In an early our of today, some number of yet to be identified students of the Federal University Gusau, Zamfara state wake up to an unfortunate day as kidnappers stormed the campus and whisked away some students. It was learned that the bandits in their large number invaded the student community of the off-campus student hostel where student constitutes the tenants of the community and whisked them away whom were mostly females.


A resident of the community, Sani Abubakar, revealed that the terrorists invaded the student’s hostel around 4:00 am today Friday, 22nd Sept. 2023 where three student’s hostels come under siege. 

Sani said, “Many of the kidnapped students were females, while other students were able to escape to the bush”.
The source added that the bandits come purposely for the students because none of the villager was kidnapped alongside the students. 

He explained, “When they arrived the village, they went straight to the students [off campuses] and started shooting sporadically”. 

“They later broke into the campuses and brought a number of students who are mostly females”. 

As at the time of filling this report, the police authority in Zamfara state is yet to react to the incident.
