The Nigerian Senate has cancelled its scheduled plenary billed to hold on Tuesday (tomorrow). According to Punch, the Clerk of the Senate, Mr. Nelson Ayewoh, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday evening.
Ayewoh did not give reasons for the action but explained that the federal lawmakers would now resume on February 19 as earlier resolved.

Senate NGR CircluarFindings indicate that the leadership of the Senate which had resolved to meet over the controversial suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari, rescinded its decision after lawyers advised it to approach the Supreme Court for the interpretation of the suspension.

The Senate is specifically asking the apex court to determine whether President Muhammadu Buhari acted within his powers by suspending the CJN or not.
