The High Court sitting in Yola chaired by, Justice Abdul-Azeez Waziri has dismissed a case filed by, Eric Theman, a candidate of the Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy (MRDD) seeking the cancellation of the Adamawa governorship election.
The court revealed it dismissed the case for lack of evidence to back up the claim.
Mr, Theman had prayed to the court that the Adamawa governorship election is cancelled and order a fresh election as his party logo was missing on the ballot paper provided by the INEC.
The order that suspended INEC from conducting a supplementary election in Adamawa was hinged on that.
INEC obeyed the ruling and suspended the supplementary election.
However, on Tuesday the court suspended that order where INEC went ahead to conduct its supplementary election.
Meanwhile, On Friday, when delivering the judgment on the main suit filed by the MRDD candidate, the judge said Mr. Theman has not tendered any proof to show that the logo of his party was omitted on the ballot papers.
He, therefore, dismissed the case.
INEC on Thursday rounded up the Adamawa governorship election and declared Ahmadu Umar Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the election.
