Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu has been impeached on Monday by the state House of Assembly. Shaibu who has been having a running battle with Governor Godwin Obaseki had refused to honour invitations extended to him by the seven-man panel which investigated allegations leveled against him.
Following his refusal, the panel spearheaded by Justice S.A. Omonua (rtd) recommended in its report that Shaibu be removed as deputy governor stating that Shaibu declined the opportunity to defend himself.
