Former Senator representing Kaduna central, Shehu Sani has today kicked against the call by Northern Elders Forum (NEF), calling for President Buhari's resignation to allow him to complete his tenure of office. Sani was responding to the Northern Elders Forum over a call the forum made yesterday demanding President Buhari resign over his failure to address the insecurity that is threatening the whole country.
The former Senator insisted that Buhari should be allowed to complete his tenure so that he can conduct the 2023 general election.

Sani made this call through his verified Twitter handle saying, “Our respectable Northern Elders want Buhari to resign; I humbly disagree, allow Sai Baba to finish his tenure and conduct elections.”

The northern elder’s forum through its Director of Publicity, Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed, has called on President Buhari yesterday to resign his office since he has clearly shown that he cannot safeguard the country being the commander in chief.

NEF said that President Buhari has shown his capacity for failing to address the issue of killing, kidnapping, and general insecurity, especially in the northern part of the country.

Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed, the Director of publicity and Advocacy of NEF made the call yesterday after the forum made a resolution on the insecurity that has engulfed northern Nigeria.
