Deputy President of the Senate, Chief Ike Ekweremadu has said that the federal Government and its functions must be trimmed if the country is to be administered effectively.

The Presidency says the non-inclusion of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in a recent parley with leaders from the South East was because Kanu failed to meet the criteria which include being a leader of thought or an opinion molder in the region.

The war of words between the Presidency and the Judiciary over ongoing campaign against corruption is yet to abate, with both sides throwing jibes at each other. On Sunday, the Special Adviser to the President on Prosecution, Okoi Obono-Obla accused one of the judges recently recalled by the National Judicial Council (NJC) of collecting over N90m gratification from 100 lawyers.
