The Supreme Court has struck out an appeal filed by the APC challenging the judgment of a High Court in Rivers State which barred the party from conducting any primaries in the state to nominate candidates to represent the party in the forthcoming election.

The apex court premised it decision that there was substance in the preliminary objection raised by the counsel to mister Ibrahim Umah and 22 others that the appeal filed by the APC has become an academic exercise.

Recall that the factions led by Mr Rotimi Amechi and Senator Magnus Abe had approached the apex court to challenge the judgment of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt which set aside the direct and indirect primaries conducted in the state.
