Nigeria is set to deepen agricultural ties with Brazil to enable the country learn from the agriculture sector in Brazil. The country also seeks to benefit from Brazils “MORE FOOD” programme in order to boost agricultural mechanisation in the country. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Mr. Audu Ogbeh stated this when he received the Brazilian Minister of External Relations Mr. Aloysio Nunes Ferreira in Abuja Nigeria’s capital.

Nigerian Federal Governnent has formally informed the governments of the United States, US, United Kingdom, UK, and other foreign countries of its decision to declare the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, as a terrorist organisation. An Abuja Federal High Court in Abuja had, on August 20, proscribed IPOB, following a motion filed by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN).

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of assets linked to Diezani Alison Madueke and five others. The total value of the property stands at over three billion naira. Justice Abdulaziz Anka, gave the order after an application filed by the EFCC, claiming that Diezani paid $21,982,224 for the assets which comprised of 18 companies and several properties located in the United Kingdom, Nigeria, and the United States.

President Muhammadu Buhari has re-appointed Mr. Uchechi N. Orji as Managing Director of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA). Orji, according to a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, was first appointed in October 2012 for an initial term of five years, renewable for another term of five years.

The Supreme Court, on Thursday adjourned the hearing of an appeal by former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki(rtd) to January 25, 2018. Dasuki, had filed an appeal before the apex court praying that it compels the Federal Government to release him from custody.

The Federal Government has charged Senator Isah Hamman Misau (APC Bauchi Central) before the Federal High Court, Abuja, “injurious falsehood” against senior officials of the police force, as well as the Nigerian police as a whole. Misau, who represents Bauchi Central in the National Assembly, has been accused of defaming the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Mike Okiro, and the Nigeria Police in various newspaper publications.
