A Federal High Court in Kano on Monday nullified the primary election that led to the emergence of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Kano, Abba Yusuf.
The judge, Lewis Allagoa, ruled that the PDP did not conduct governorship primary election in Kano, and declared the candidature of Mr Yusuf null and void.
Counsel to the Plaintiff, Kabiru Usman says the PDP would have to provide another Governorship Candidate before the coming Polls, scheduled for 9th March 2019.
In his remarks, PDP Counsel says the verdict do not affect Abba Kabir as a Candidate but the PDP as a party. According to him, the PDP will obey the court order.
Recall that a PDP gubernatorial aspirant, Ali Amin-little, had approached the court, challenging the process that led to the emergence of Mr Yusuf as PDP gubernatorial candidate in Kano.
