Team Nigeria ended day eight of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in the 11th position in the medals table on Thursday.
At the close of events on Wednesday, Team Nigeria were 10th but dropped to the 11th position despite winning one silver and two bronze (all from wrestling) on Thursday.
Following the addition of the three more medals, Team Nigeria currently has four gold, five silver and two bronze medals.
Africa’s highest ranked country South Africa dropped from fourth to fifth position with 11 gold, nine silver, 12 bronze medals.
Botswana moved down one spot from 14th to joint-15th with two gold and one silver, while Uganda also went down two places to 17th on two gold and one bronze.
Other African countries who dropped are Mauritius from 26th to joint-28th with one silver and Cameroon who went two places down from 31st to 33rd with just one bronze.
The only African country that moved up was Kenya as they climed four places from 23rd to 18th with one gold, three silver and three bronze.
Host country Australia is still leading in the medals standings on 63 gold, 46 silver and 47 bronze.
England is still in second spot with 28 gold, 32 silver, 27 bronze, in third spot is India with 14 gold, seven silver, 10 bronze and Canada is fourth position with 12 gold, 29 silver and 19 bronze.
