Manchester United manager, Jose Mourihno has admitted making tactical mistakes on Tuesday night after his side lost 1-2 to Spanish side, Sevilla in the Champions League round of 16 at Old Trafford. The former Chelsea and Real Madrid gaffer who spoke after the game revealed that it was his fault, rather than that of his players, who he believes did their jobs well.  Speaking to Mega TV he said

The first edition of the Leg Lagos Challenge, a grassroot football tournament organized by Donbalon Sports Commerz and supported by the Lagos State Government, will feature individual awards to participating players named in honour of five former Super Eagles stars, the sponsors and a former top Nigerian referee.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award will be in honour of Austin Okocha, the highest goal scorer named after the late Rashidi Yekini, while the best goalkeeper prize will be handed out in honour of Peter Rufai.

The best behaved team award is named after Mutiu Adepoju and best coach award will go out in honour of Samson Siasia.

The Greek top-flight match between PAOK Salonika and AEK Athens on Sunday was abandoned after PAOK’s president, Ivan Savvidis invaded the pitch with a gun. Savvidis tried to confront the referee with a gun in a hip holster after his side had an 89th-minute goal ruled offside with the score 0-0.

An Egyptian journalist Salah Montaser is at the centre of a Social Media storm after his “suggestion” that national team star Mohamed Salah should shave his beard which makes him look like a “terrorist” was roundly condemned across the North African country.

Montaser, a columnist with the state-run newspaper Al-Ahram, said Salah should shave his beard as it “puts him in one basket with extremists…. and terrorists.”

Pep Guardiola has been subjected to a scathing attack from the Bayern Munich doctor with whom he had a highly publicised fall-out during his spell in charge of the German club.

Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt has described Guardiola as a “person with low self-esteem, who will do everything to hide it from others” in an extraordinary rebuke of the Manchester City manager.

The highly-regarded doctor, 75, left Bayern after 38 years in the wake of a 3-1 Champions League quarter-final first leg defeat away to Porto in April 2015 that he claims Guardiola blamed him for and which proved the tipping point in their troubled relationship.

Muller-Wohlfahrt, who has since returned to Bayern for a third spell with the German giants, has alleged he was “verbally attacked” by Guardiola “while the players were receiving treatment”.

Kwara united of Ilorin has sacked technical adviser, John Obuh. Obuh was given a three-match ultimatum to save the club or get sacked, but the team to lost one and drew two of the three matches. The club’s media officer, Abdulwaheed Bibire, said the two parties mutually agreed to part ways after a meeting facilitated by the state football association chairman, Busari Ishola.
