The Coach of Chipolopolo of Zambia, Wedson Nyirenda has vowed to defeat the Super Eagles of Nigeria when they both clash in a crucial world Cup Qualifying match in Uyo on October 7. He disclosed that having defeated Algeria home and away, his team was now focused on beating Nigeria at home to throw the group open and take the battle to the final day of the group stage encounter.

According to him “Now we will focus on Nigeria. They are a good team and will desperately want a win. But I have a big team who can pick a win and that’s what I am planning for.”

The Captain of the team, Kennedy Mweene has also charged his teammates to remain dedicated and focused on their main goal which is to qualify Zambia for next year's world cup.

”The game against Nigeria is all about preparation. I am confident we can win in Nigeria with adequate preparations like we had (for Algeria). It will definitely be tough because it will be a do or die affair; we are three points behind, which we can meet up now. We have a good team who can do it. All the players have shown commitment and dedication. The morale is high in camp and that’s what gives us the motivation.”

Zambia has gone unbeaten in their last seven matches including CHAN and World Cup qualifiers. They currently sit second on the log with three points behind Nigeria.
