Settlement with the United State Commerce Department that would allow China’s No. 2 telecommunications equipment maker to resume business with U.S. suppliers was made public on Monday, days after the company agreed to pay a $1 billion fine, overhaul its leadership and meet other conditions.

But the ban on buying U.S. parts, compulsory by the department in April, will not be lifted until the company pays the fine and places $400 million more in escrow in a U.S.-approved bank, the agency said.

ZTE (0763.HK) did not immediately react to requests for comment on Monday.

The social media giant Facebook has revealed a new bug that switched 14 million users' privacy settings to public without their permission.

Affected users had the privacy settings of their posts automatically set to be shared to "everyone", even if they had chosen a setting which restricted who could see them.

The bug affected Facebook's internal systems between 18 and 22 May; the social media company was not able to return the posts to their original settings until 27 May.

Facebook has confirmed it has a data-sharing partnership with Chinese firms including Huawei, the world’s third largest smartphone maker, which has come under scrutiny from U.S. intelligence agencies on security concerns. The agreements gave the Chinese firms some access to users' data to help them build Facebook "experiences" on their own platforms.

The leak showcased almost full details of the phones including prices tagged at an outrageous 9.999 Yuan (about $1,560).

The vivo NEX S is said to sport a Snapdragon 845 chipset with 8GB of RAM, a huge 6.59-inch display with 1080 x 2316 pixels resolution and a humongous 4,000 mAh battery. On the back, we find a pair of 12MP and 5MP sensors and on the front, an 8MP periscope camera takes care of the selfies and video calls.

Apple has unveiled all the new features heading to iPhones and iPads at its developer conference in San Francisco on Monday, including speed boost for even older devices, improved privacy and a host of new features.

The look of iOS 12 will be very familiar, with the company focusing on improving the experience and the underlying software rather than simply splashing on a new coat of paint.

Even though Apple’s CarPlay supports third-party apps, the software forces you to use Apple Maps if you want to get directions. That will no longer be the case with iOS 12, which includes support for third-party navigation apps like Google Maps and Waze.
