NIPOST: President Buhari Appoints New Postmaster General

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Hon. Adepoju Sunday as the new Postmaster General (PMG)/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST). According to reports, Adepoju was appointed following the recommendation of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami.


His appointment was announced on Wednesday in a statement issued by the spokesperson to the Minister, Uwa Suleiman, which stated that the appointment is with immediate effect and is for an initial term of five (5) years.

The statement also stated that Adepoju is a professional accountant and also a former member of the Federal House of Representatives from 2011-2015 and 2015-2019, representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Oyo State.

Adepoju would replace Barrister Bulus Yakubu, who was appointed as acting PMG/CEO, NIPOST on September 22, 2022, following the suspension of his predecessor, Dr. Ismail Adewusi from office.

NIPOST is under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.
