President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sacked Ahmed Kuru as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) while appointing Gbenga Alade as his replacement. This development was made known on Thursday in a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
Similarly, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new management team for AMCON, pending confirmation by the Senate.
The newly appointed management team members are Aminu Ismail, Adeshola Lamidi and Lucky Adaghe.
Ngelale said, “The President expects unflagging dedication, professionalism and dutifulness from the new appointees so as to ensure that the operations of AMCON are more efficient, transparent and in consonance with his determination to sanitize the nation’s financial system to maximize value and enhance investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.”
