Aisha Buhari, wife of the President on Thursday officially commissioned Cedar Crest Hospital, the health facility that saved her son's life after a power bike crash around Gwarimpa, Abuja. Speaking at the event, Aisha Buhari commended the 90-bed hospital sited in Abuja’s Apo District and health practitioners working in the facility for saving her son’s life after the crash.

She said all health facilities must be read at all times in case of any eventuality.

“And it happened to my son. He almost lost his life, but this hospital saved him. Even after he was flown abroad for further medical attention, they [hospitals and surgeons abroad] did not do anything for him.

“They asked where the accident happened, where the surgery took place, I said Nigeria. They said excellent. “I believe in making Nigeria a better place. I don’t believe in spending our resources abroad. We have all it takes to have a hospital like this.”

Recall that Yusuf Buhari was rushed to the hospital after the accident and was operated upon before he was flown out of the country for further treatment.
