Mad Melon of Danfo Driver Group Dies

Oghenemaro Emeofa popularly known as Mad Melon, a member of the legendary Nigerian singing duo, Danfo Driverhas on Wednesday died, after a brief illness.

In a statement by the management of the music group, “The management of Mad Melon and Mountain Black aka Danfo Drivers, wishes to announce to the general public the passing of Oghenemaro Emeofa aka Mad Melon.

“A true legend has fallen. May God grant his family, group mate (Mountain Black), well-wishers and friends the fortitude to bear the loss.”

The reggae duo of Mad Melon and Mountain Black of the Danfo Driver group came to limelight in 2003 with their hit like ‘Kpolongo’, ‘Na God O, Iya Mi O’, ‘No Matter What They Do’ but dimmed years later.

Fans, family and friends have taken to social media to express their sadness about his passing. Music icon, Daddy Showkey in a video on instagram said,

"What kind of sad news is this, what kind of sad news is this, what kind of sad news is this. Oh my God, we just lost somebody, I just heard it just now. I'm not happy at all, I'm not happy. When dem go dey tell people make dem dey hear, make dem dey hear."
