NBC Grants NYSC Broadcasting Licence

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has granted an operational licence to the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC) to commence its Direct Satellite Broadcasting (BSB) and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV). The NYSC Director-General Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim on 9th February 2022 received the broadcast licence from his NBC counterpart, Mallam Balarabe Ilela in the nation's capital. More so, Ilela stated that more support will be accorded the scheme by the Federal Government" "to tell the NYSC story; especially its tremendous achievements to the world".

The NBC Boss revealed that the NYSC has achieved one of its sole aim of uniting the country in many ways and contributing to national development. llela said. “The commission normally gives licence in trust and we believe this will be used for the purpose it is given. We are very proud to be part of your progress. With somebody like you, we are sure our license is in safe hands,”.

The NBC Director-General also used the forum to congratulate the NYSC Director-General on his recent promotion to the rank of Major General.

Ibrahim said that since his assumption of duty he has been passionate about the NYSC having its own radio and television stations, stating that it is quite fulfilling that the dream has come to fruition.
