The left engine of SkyWest Airlines flight 5869 from Aspen Colorado was engulfed in flames on Monday while attempting to land at the Denver International Airport. The Airport is reputed to be the largest airport in the United States and the sixth busiest by boarded passengers.

According to a brief statement issued by the Airlines Operators, "All 59 passengers and crew members safely deplaned the aircraft and were transported to the terminal,"

Although the incident is still under investigation, the statement said the fire was as a result of "engine issues".

Meanwhile, officials of the airport said full operations have since commenced across all runways.
