IPOB Declares Oct 1 Sit-At-Home, Operation 'No Nigerian Flag'

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has declared a total shutdown in the Southeast on October 1, and operation "no Nigerian flag" in all organizations in the region with effect from September 25, 2021. The group made the announcement in a statement by the Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, saying there would be no movement in the Southeast on October 1, 2021.

Court Remands Dismissed Killer Cop Samuel Phillips, Over Murder Of 18-year-old Girl

The magistrate court sitting at Yaba, Lagos, has remanded Samuel Phillips, the police sergeant dismissed over his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting of Monsurat Ojuade, an 18-year-old girl. Announcing the sacking of Phillips, the Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu in a statement of Friday said Phillips was dismissed after the conclusion of his orderly room trial. “The suspect will be charged to court for murder,” he added. The statement reads: “This is to inform the general public that Sgt Samuel Phillips who was tried for the shooting incident of 11th September 2021 that led to the death of Monsurat Ojuade has been dismissed from the Nigerian Police Force. He was dismissed after the conclusion of his orderly room trial. The suspect will be charged to court today for murder. “Recall that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, had promised that the matter would be properly investigated. 

Gunmen Kill Three Policemen, Injure Others In Anambra

Gunmen have killed three policemen and injured two persons while setting a police vehicle ablaze at the Ezeiweka area of the commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra State. It was gathered that the two persons injured were also cops during the shooting incident at a security post mounted by the police operatives.

Reps To Probe Alleged Leakage Of Classified Documents

The House of Representatives has reached a resolution to investigate and prevent the alleged leakage of classified documents to the general public, describing it as an act of sabotage. This decision was taken after the adoption of a motion by Rep. Babatunde Adejare at the plenary on Thursday, titled: ‘Need to Address Leakage of Classified Security Documents to the Public.’

Police Arrest Yobe Woman For Poisoning Three Children In Yobe

The Yobe Police Command says it has arrested a 22-year-old Yobe housewife, Khadija Yakubu, for allegedly Killing three Stepchildren with Poison in Potiskum town, Yobe State. The incident occurred at Makara-Huta area of Potiskum in the early hours of Friday when the three deceased drank a poisoned tea allegedly prepared by their stepmother. ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Police Public Relations Officer in the Yobe State Police Command, confirmed the incident, noting that the suspect had been apprehended. According to him, the victims were; Umar Alh Haruna, aged 12; Ahmed Alh Haruna, aged 9; Maryam Alh Haruna, aged 11 as well as a 7-year-old Zainab Alh Haruna.
