Rampaging Bandits Abduct 50 Passengers In Niger State

Rampaging suspected bandits have struck again this time kidnapping about fifty passengers travelling along the Tegina-Minna road in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, on Tuesday. The incident happened when the three commercial vehicles conveying passengers, including the drivers ran into the roadblock at Kundu, few kilometres from Zungeru town, set up by the bandits. The vehicles conveying the kidnapped victims who have been taken to an unknown location were abandoned along the road.

Lagos Court Fines Arrested Cubana Nightclub Fun Seekers N6.8m

A mobile court sitting at the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit in Oshodi has convicted 172 fun-seekers arrested at Cubana Night Club, Victoria Island, on Saturday by the state police command for violating COVID-19 protocols. The presiding judge requested each of the 172 violators to pay a fine of N40,000, and also sentenced them to community service. Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, had while parading them at the command headquarters in Ikeja, said, “Despite all the efforts and COVID-19 policies being rolled out by the government, most youths, who are leaders of tomorrow, still find it difficult to comply. Self-compliance is what matters most; the ladies and gentlemen here were arrested around 2 am on Saturday at the Cubana Nightclub on Victoria Island.

Gunmen Abduct Over 300 Schoolgirls In Zamfara

At least 300 schoolgirls have on Friday been abducted by suspected bandits from Government Girls Secondary School in Jangebe town, Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State. According to some school staff, the bandits who disguised themselves as security personnel arrived at the school around 2 am, shooting sporadically before breaking into the school and abducting the schoolgirls from the hostel in Hilux vehicles and motorcycles.

The anti-graft agency told the court that the money was sent to the erstwhile Minister in a ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ (a sack), through his driver identified as Francis and his Personal Assistant named Victor.
